Our highly skilled experts in distance learning, curriculum design, instruction and assessment have created a wealth of tools that help teachers ensure they are building the right skills at each stage, in a manner appropriate for each student’s individual learning style.
Elena V Solodyankin, M.Ed.
Founder & Executive Director
Elena Solodyankin has more than 25 years of experience in the field of education. She founded the online program in 2003, which is now Enlightium Academy. She has led the school to become a premier provider of customized distance learning for grades 3–12. Mrs. Solodyankin has spoken at numerous educational conferences about the need for personalized Christian education and how she applied it to raising her three biological and five adopted children.
She holds an M.Ed. in K-12 Guidance & Counseling from Whitworth University and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in leadership at Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA. Elena is state and ACSI certified. Throughout her career, she has been devoted to the principle that within the hearts and minds of children and their families is an endless source of inspiration, caring and learning.

Aleksandr A. Solodyankin, CMA
School Manager & Head of Accounting
Aleksandr graduated from Whitworth University Cum Laude with a B.A. double major in accounting and marketing and is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). He has worked in the education field since 2006 in the capacity as a math teacher, chief financial officer, and school manager.
He is a lifelong learner, passionate about helping others reach greater heights in all realms of life. A foundational principle of his is that each individual is made in the image of God, has intrinsic value, and God-given abilities, that to steward God’s creation well, must be further developed and used for God’s glory.

Irina N. Martin, M. Ed., SHRM-CP
Head Faculty and Staff Coordinator
Irina began her education career as a secondary English teacher in a traditional classroom after graduating with her bachelor’s degree from Pensacola Christian College in 2006. She obtained her Master of Educational Administration degree and began working at Enlightium Academy.
Since joining Enlightium Academy in 2011, Irina has worked tirelessly on developing policies and structure for a fast-growing institution. In 2018, her focus shifted to the quality of instruction, curriculum development, and staffing.
She is a firm believer that all students are capable of succeeding in academics when given a clear presentation with adequate repetition and time to digest new information. Her chief goal is to assure that all of Enlightium's students are well prepared to succeed in higher education.

Michael Brooks, BBA
Michael graduated from Eastern Washington University with his bachelors in Business Administration. He has worked at Enlightium Academy since 2015 as the Information Systems Manager handling internal procedures, policies, and data collection and analysis. Michael is in charge of mass communication with families and faculty and works on EA’s website development and maintenance. He is certified by ACSI.
Prior to attending college, Michael enlisted in the United States military in the field of cryptology, where he served on four continents. Michael has a love of learning and continually reads about any subject that interests him. He loves hiking and camping with his wife, daughter and dog in the great Northwest and plays the guitar, ukulele and the upright bass.
Thomas Lambert, B.A.
Thomas graduated from William Carey University in 2011 with a bachelors in Mathematics. He worked in a public school for 4 years as a teacher and coach before joining the Enlightium team in 2015. He is state and ACSI Certified. At Enlightium, Thomas works with teachers to effectively equip them for supporting students in the online environment, developing resources to make teachers and students successful. He also works closely with parents to hold students accountable in giving their best effort and completing their work with honesty and integrity.
Thomas is a pastor of local church in Spokane, WA. He has a love for traveling and international missions, participating in multiple short and long term trips, in a variety of different places. Thomas spends his free time creating wood toys in his shop and playing disc golf.
Head Academic Consultant
Valentin Solodyankin has been in a private Christian education since 2007. He attended a Christian school during his high school years, and then studied at Whitworth University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in communication and theology and, upon graduating, he taught Bible, history, and music at a private school. Believing that God has called him to children’s ministry, Valentin has traveled to Ukraine, Russia, and Mexico for summer mission trips. At Enlightium Academy, Valentin is an Academic Consultant and works collaboratively with the EA School Chaplain on ministering to EA students via social platform.
Valentin is a family man who enjoys adventures. He has a lovely wife and a daughter, whom he adores. He loves to learn, travel, and participate in outdoor activities and sports. "Enjoy life," is a motto he adopted from his father, and a motto he lives by. “We live in a beautiful world that God created and have so little time to see it all!”
Marina Vagin, BA - DIP
Head Registrar and Admissions
Mrs. Vagin has been working with Enlightium Academy since 2009. She has a degree in Business Management and is currently pursuing a degree in Social Services at Whitworth University. She worked tirelessly on developing the EA counselors' and admissions departments, and now is leading the counselor’s department and serving as the Elementary School Counselor. She loves working with parents and students and making a difference in people’s lives.
She is happily married to her husband and together they are raising their daughter. Mrs. Vagin teaches Sunday School at her church and is involved with the MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) program.
Andrey Karpov, BA - DIP
Progress Director & Accounting Support
Since 2013, Andrey has been involved in varying parts of Enlightium Academy. He has spent a lot of this time working with students and parents to provide a better understanding of the Ignitia system and the progress of students through the coursework. He is currently leading the Progress Department
and working with his team to develop new and better ways to help students succeed by keeping parents informed.
Andrey attended and graduated from a Christian school and is currently pursuing a Business Administration degree at Eastern Washington University. He is raising his family with his wife in the beautiful Inland Northwest. Andrey enjoys quiet moments over a cup of tea and on nature walks. He is also involved with a group of Christians that focuses on evangelism in his town.
