A Message from Administration

On behalf of Enlightium Academy teachers and staff, I'd like to welcome you to the new school year! Our team is committed to collaborating with you in teaching your student from a Christian perspective. We aim to lay a foundation of spiritual formation, academic discipline, and psychological well-being in your child's development. Please learn about your student’s support level so that you may know what to expect under the Diamond, Gold, Silver Premium, Silver, and Bronze programs. Know that if the support level is not meeting your child’s needs, the first change of the support level comes at no charge, but should be finalized by the 14th day of working on assignments. We aim to tailor to each family the best we can, so do not hesitate to reach out to our team if you have any questions or concerns.

The social development of your child is critical in any grade level, so be sure to engage in the EA social events that we offer throughout the year. Please reference our school calendar often, to stay informed about when we send report cards, have parent-teacher conferences, educational webinars, and more. Since most of our communication is done online, check your email at least once a week and stay connected with our dedicated team of teachers and staff. Communication is the key to a successful school year and we are here to help in any way.

Many blessings in Christ,
Elena Solodyankin

Andrey360x360A Message from the Progress Department

Dear Enlightium Families,

We are very excited for the 2018-19 school year and hope to be a greater help to parents and students than ever before. With new technology for tracking student progress, we hope to increase the accuracy and timeliness of our processes to allow our staff more time to focus on helping your family.

Our goal is to help students be successful in becoming independent learners. We believe this is best accomplished by empowering parents and guardians to keep their students accountable and motivated. If there is any way we can assist you with this by providing details on student progress, offering suggestions, or anything else, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at 866-488-4818 option 3 or by emailing progress@enlightiumacademy.com.

Best,
Andrey Karpov

Michael360x360A Message from the Technical Team

Dear Enlightium Families,

We are thrilled to get this year started with some new resources available to families. If you’re new to online private homeschooling or aren’t too tech-savvy, have no fear! Our team has been producing technical requirements blogs to help get you on the right path. We’ll continue to add topics over time, but for now we have:

-Buying the Right Computer for an Online Private School Student
-Do I Have the Right Browser for Online Private Schooling?
-What Devices Can Be Used with Ignitia?
-Do I Have the Right Internet for Online Private Schooling?
-Best Computer Practices for Online Students

If you have any technical questions or difficulties, please try the following methods:

  1. Check out our Ignitia Troubleshooting Handbook. It lists common issues and the solutions for them.
  2. Contact Ignitia Technical Support at 877-251-6662. Their team is knowledgeable and is capable of addressing issues in their system. If their resolutions are not satisfactory, Enlightium can assist in providing alternative solutions.

If there’s any one recommendation I have, it’s to talk to an EA employee if you have any questions or concerns, no matter how small, whether it is technical, concerning grades or progress, or just wanting to know more about online private homeschooling. Honest and open communication between all parties is the best path a successful education.

Best,
Michael Brooks
Communications Director

Important Changes for Students in Grades 3-12

  • Lessons and Quizzes Attempts - As stated in the Family Handbook, students are given two attempts to reach the threshold of 73% on lessons. On quizzes, students may have a second attempt if the first attempt score is lower than a C grade (73%). Students have the option to receive partial points on quizzes below 73% by submitting explanations and/or steps to solving the problem that were marked incorrect in the form of help requests. Students will not be allowed to make corrections on quizzes above 73%.
  • Family Alliance - Enlightium Academy families are encouraged to join our Family Alliance Facebook group where we post school updates, online private homeschooling blogs, and more. Families can also connect with each other or ask EA staff questions.
  • Report Card Change
    • High School Students: Progress reports for high school students for end of 1st and 3rd quarters, with semester based report cards at the end of quarter 2 and 4 as the semester courses are completed.
    • Elementary and Middle School Students: Progress reports will be sent for all quarters until the courses are completed at the end of the year.
  • Students are only allowed up to two extensions, a roughly 60 and 90 day extension.
