NCAA Approved Online High School Program and Courses

Enlightium Academy recognizes the need for quality Christian online education. A traditional brick and mortar classroom environment may not be the best fit for some students like competitive athletes. Whether the student needs to be academically challenged, desires a more flexible schedule, or desires to work from the comfort of the home, EA is a great choice! In partnership with parents and God's guidance, we are working diligently with each student to raise him or her up to the next academic level. The EA team is preparing the next generation of students who will be equipped for life: spiritually, academically, and socially. Leveraging technology to bring education to students, Enlightium Academy meets them wherever they are in their educational journey. Students can work independently or receive one-on-one support as quickly as the selected support level provides. The EA teachers develop relationships with students, nurturing their academic and spiritual growth, and communicate with them via direct messaging, over the phone, or screen-share and face-to-face video sessions regarding assignment questions. Students enrolled at Enlightium Academy are empowered to pursue their dreams and academic goals. EA offers NCAA approved standard and AP courses, giving student the opportunity to engage with a high standard while providing the support needed to succeed.

College-bound athletes

Students who plan to compete at the collegiate level recognize the need for NCAA approved courses. All Enlightium Academy standard core and AP/CC courses are NCAA approved. Parents should indicate the NCAA preference on the enrollment application and work with counselors to ensure NCAA approved courses are assigned and students are added to the NCAA portal to upload transcripts. Enlightium approved courses can be viewed at eligibilitycenter.org/courselist and use the school code 481292.

NCAA Eligibility

The NCAA requires students to complete 16 NCAA-approved core courses, earn a minimum of a 2.2 GPA for Division I and 2.3 GPA for Division 2, with division 2 requiring a 3rd year of math.

Meeting Enlightium Academy’s minimum graduation requirements with the appropriate 16 NCAA approved courses will meet the core course requirements set by the NCAA.

SAT and ACT Test Scores

Student SAT or ACT scores should be representative of the student’s GPA. Also, the NCAA Eligibility Center should be listed as a score recipient, in addition to Enlightium Academy, using codes 9999 for the NCAA and 481292 for Enlightium Academy.

Special Requirements and Restrictions

Students will need to ensure they meet the minimum time requirements, only take NCAA approved standard core, AP and CC courses. Additionally failed coursework will need to be retaken in it’s entirety, and not utilize credit recovery

"I have 2 teenagers (boys) enrolled, both athletes. One is a competitive figure skater who trains all day, and the other a High School hockey goalie in MN who can play in the MN Hockey school system w/ paperwork submitted as a home schooled kid - Enlightium was very prompt in this admin task! The Enlightium program is a blessing for us b/c their development paths have been augmented by the flex of being able to complete assignments as their schedules allow. Hockey recruiters and Juniors team coaches have been very glad to hear that my goalie son is in an online program, which translates to flexibility for opportunities to advance if he needs to move away from home. The NCAA accreditation is a huge deal. My figure skater trains all day but has the laptop at the rink between sessions, so his coaching staff love it. Bottom line, I was scared to pull them from the brick & mortar school setting, which was a private Christian school, but we needed a system like this for their development goals. My boys have had their times of being hounded for the discipline of getting things done b/c it is so flexible and kudos to Enlightium for sending emails to alert! The Progress Dept for them is incredible, so we're confident that this system truly watches over the individual students and is quick to communicate w/ parents, When my sons have compared their curriculum to others in public school, they are at least a year ahead in subject matter, especially in math, it was an eye opener that this really is prepping them for the requisite SAT test. The HUGE bonus is that they're getting a Bible-based education. People have taken notice of this and we are honored to contribute this review."
