Aside from assigning courses to meet graduation requirements and coordinating with the students’ and parents’ goals and desires, our counselors can help students who need more help discovering their options, selecting colleges, finding scholarship opportunities, and developing a plan that meets the requirements of the universities of the family’s choosing. This personalized strategy and proactive counseling is available with the Diamond package. However, students in the Silver, Silver Premium, and Gold packages can purchase a 1-hour personalized counseling session with the lead counselor for their grade level.
Students in grades 3–12 who are enrolled in the Bronze, Silver, or Silver Premium package can take advantage of tutoring sessions available to them. With these tutoring sessions, students will have the ability to do a live screen-share session while on the phone with their teacher where they can work together to solve complex math problems, or work through that tough English assignment.
EA offers French, Spanish, German, Latin, and Chinese (Mandarin). Through these courses, students will have the opportunity to study linguistic patterns, learn a language they have always wanted to learn, or even prepare for missions work overseas. The cost varies depending on the grade level, support package, and curriculum used.
Advanced Placement (AP) program is a great opportunity for dedicated students who are planning to apply for competitive universities. For students in grades 11–12 who are enrolled in the Silver or Silver Premium package, there is an added fee for Advanced Placement (AP) courses. Students enrolled in the Gold or Diamond package are able to take these courses with no additional fee. This fee includes any required textbooks, which EA will ship to families. AP® enables students to pursue college-level courses while still in high school.
Dual Enrollment (CC) courses are designed for students who want to go ahead with their education and earn college credits while in high school. EA offers CC courses through Northwest Nazarene University (NNU). For students in grades 11–12 who are enrolled in the Silver, Silver Premium, or Gold package, there is an added fee for CC courses.
Being enrolled at an online school doesn’t mean you have to do all of your coursework on the computer. EA offers students the ability to get credit for certain activities done offline as well (soccer, home economics, art, piano lessons - to name a few possibilities). Among other qualifiers, the activity should take up a total of at least 60 hours to be awarded 1 semester of credit or 120 hours to be awarded a full year of credit. If you are interested in taking an offline elective or would like to know if your current extracurricular activities would count as an offline elective, please contact your counselor.
The Gifted and Higher-Level Learner Program was developed for exceptional students in grades 6–8 who are enrolled in the Silver, Silver Premium, or Gold package with documented advanced abilities, high-performing talent, superior aptitude, and/or high-achieving capabilities beyond his/her age/grade level. The program will entail an exclusive course and mentorship series where students can take their learning to the next level. Student eligibility for EA’s Gifted and Higher-Level Learner Program is determined by the student’s counselor and appropriate documentation.
Enlightium Academy’s Bridge Program is available to students to provide any combination of short-term individualized resources, academic and schedule changes, and emotional support services to help distressed students. The Bridge Program’s goal is to help students grow confidence in their potential so that they can obtain the needed academic skills for their future career. The EA team believes that by giving students in need extra support and encouragement, we will help them to see that they have God-given abilities to be successful in life.
This program is designed for students who need curriculum interventions/alternatives to support students with academic/cognitive challenges or learning disabilities. Parents should have their IEP translated by their resident district for private school use. Alternatively, since Enlightium Academy doesn’t assess or update Individualized Education Programs (IEP) or unofficial Individualized Service Plans (ISP), it is recommended to simply provide EA with the diagnostic documents from a specialized professional.
This program is designed for students with diagnosed health impairments, so EA can accommodate doctor recommendations. EA’s 504 Plan Coordinator will work with families to unify teachers with student needs.
The Stanford 10 is a set of standardized achievement tests used for assessing children’s skills in English, math, history, and science. Allowing students to take the Stanford 10 also allows EA to compare its students’ scores to the national average. EA encourages all of its students to take this test to attain an updated benchmark of overall academic performance at each student’s respective grade level. The test results will not affect his/her current grades at EA.
EA students have the option to enroll in Summer School to complete schoolwork. During Summer School, support is offered at the Silver package level. There is an added fee for students enrolled in the Bronze, Silver, Silver Premium, or Gold packages. Diamond students are offered this option at no additional cost.
Enlightium Academy students have multiple options for starting school depending on the needs of the student or family. If a student needs to start early, whether it is to ensure that they will have enough time to finish their AP course or to lighten the load during the regular semester, EA can help.
