Students who seek to earn an accredited diploma from Enlightium Academy (EA) and take at least 5 credits per year are considered full-time students.
EA counselors, upon reviewing the student’s previous school’s academic, behavioral, and health records and EA’s placement tests’ results, work with parents to tailor to the student’s course schedule. High school courses, in addition to meeting the requirements for graduation, can be tailored to meet desired college or university admissions’ requirements. EA counselors guide their students to prepare for SAT/ACT college entrance exams.
Depending on the college or career plans and the student’s academic performance and skills, the counselor may recommend taking more rigorous subjects such as Honors, Advanced Placement (AP), and/or Dual Enrollment (Concurrent Credits) courses. In addition, the student’s counselor can advise on what reductions in academic plans can be made to avoid a course schedule which would negatively impact the student’s GPA. EA counselors ensure that National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)-approved courses are assigned for college-bound athletes, per parental request. If students are not on track to complete the assigned classes by the end of the semester and/or school year, courses may be dropped as incomplete or extended into EA’s summer school program.
Tuition for full-time students is based on a range of required credits. EA counselors work in the student’s best interest and customize the schedule for each student.
A student who needs a different pace for his/her schoolwork because of a demanding personal schedule or because of failed courses may request a reduced course load. Parents need to contact their counselor and address their student’s needs/concerns.
Students who wish to get ahead may take additional courses during summer school to graduate early.
- High school students are assigned a range of 5-7 courses for the school year based on their graduation requirements.
- Middle school students are assigned a range of 5-6 courses for the school year.
- Elementary school students are assigned a standard 5 courses and can request to add electives at an additional cost.
