Ignitia Troubleshooting: My Student is Waiting Too Long for Quizzes and Tests to be Unlocked

Li’l Billy is working on a quiz or test when the Internet cuts out, and he gets locked out of the quiz automatically. Suddenly, from the living room, “Moooom!” Li’l Billy needs the quiz or test unlocked so he can finish it.

Quizzes and tests are unlocked by the student’s teachers during office hours; teachers unlock the assignment within the standard response time based on the support package that the student is enrolled in. During busy seasons, such as the end of a quarter when many students submit additional assignments, it may take an additional school day for an unlock request to be reviewed by the teacher.

All your student needs to do is send a direct message to their teacher and kindly request for the quiz or test to be unlocked. Note that it is best practice to send just one message to the teacher. Please allow your student’s teacher enough time to review the request, and please do not call, email, or message other team members for this request.

If the student is on the quiz's first attempt, teachers tend to unlock it. However, tests only have one attempt, so if a student looks at a test, then exits, finds the answers, and requests an unlock, they could get a high score when they didn't earn it.

Communication is KEY to get an assessment returned. If you have any technical problems, contact Ignitia tech support at (800) 735-4193. They can help you resolve the technical issue. Then you can reach out to your teacher to request an alternate test. Please know that alternate tests are a privilege, not a right. Teachers do not allow tests to be unlocked without a good reason, so if a test is submitted and you do not contact your teacher right away, they may not unlock the test for you.
