Part of the Government and Public Administration career cluster, this Career and Technical Education (CTE) elective provides students in grades 11-12 with a broad understanding of national security careers in the United States. Topics of discussion include the history of American national security, theories and laws that form the basis of national security, the armed forces, the intelligence community, the role of law enforcement, bureaucratic agencies, legislative and executive responsibilities, terrorism, weapons of mass destruction, and career paths in the field of national security.
