Principles of Coding

Offered to Grades 11-12
0.5 Credit (Semester or Summer Term)

Introduces students to computer science, one of today's fastest growing career fields. Ignitia Principles of Coding is a semester-long course that explores the basics of coding, dives into the thought processes behind technology design, and examines the impact of technology from a global perspective. Throughout the semester, students use their knowledge about the engineering design process to create games, simulations, and a mobile application.

In a world where computer literacy is just as important as reading and math skills, Principles of Coding strives to connect different disciplines by incorporating core subjects into coursework throughout the semester. Through traditional instruction, oral communication, and project-based learning, students gain valuable coding and computer proficiencies that prepare them to succeed in high school, college, and the workforce.
