AP English Language and Composition

U S HistoryAP English Language and Composition is a course designed to prepare students for the AP examination. Students are expected to read critically, think analytically, and communicate clearly both in writing and speech.

This course will enable students to properly evaluate an author’s language dynamics and poetic/prosaic compositions, as well as understand the relationship between the author’s goals and the reader’s perception. Upon completing this course, students are highly encouraged to take an Advanced Placement Exam to earn college credits. Due to the rigorous nature of this course, students enrolling will need to be highly disciplined and self-motivated. This course has been built around the practices published in the AP English Language and Composition Course and Exam Description.

Timetable for AP Courses

Since exams for AP courses take place during the first two weeks of May, students are encouraged to begin working on them as early as July and no later than the beginning of school year. Additional payment (if applicable) is due within 30 days of enrollment. The Accounting Department will reach out via email to arrange a payment. Discounts do not apply to AP courses.
