Step 1: Complete the Parent and Student Orientations

    The Parent Orientation

Our team provided updates to the Parent Orientation:

    • There is less material to review and each lesson is catered to your family (grades PreK-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12).
    • Lessons are now in the Ignitia platform, which will allow you to see your progress in completing the Parent Orientation. For example, if you cannot complete the Parent Orientation in one sitting, you can easily pick up from where you left off.

Returning families have an abridged Parent Orientation, as well as grade-specific lessons based on staff and faculty recommendations and other Enlightium families’ experiences. You will receive an email soon with login information.

    The Parent Orientation covers:

    • The 2021-2022 Open House video
    • New and updated resources for your family
    • Video testimonies from Enlightium parents and students
    • The Family Handbook, course curriculum, supply lists, and project forecasts

    The Student Orientation

The Student Orientation course is assigned once your student has access to Ignitia and is required for students in grades 3–12 to go over all assignments, even students who have already been enrolled at Enlightium. Students in grades PreK-2 do not need to complete the Student Orientation.

    The Student Orientation covers:

    • School-wide updates and new policies
    • Grade level-specific advice
    • Video testimonies from Enlightium students

Step 2: Review Your State’s Education Requirements

Enlightium Academy is a private Christian school, accredited by Cognia and the Association of Christian Schools International, serving homeschool, online, and co-op school students in grades K-12. Since most of our students study from home settings, some states view our students as homeschoolers, therefore requiring them to follow their state’s homeschool requirements. We advise you to review your state’s requirements through the following options:

    • Visit HSLDA.org or propublica.org
    • Look up your state on Enlightium Academy’s blog
    • For additional questions, contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Please note: As an accredited and approved private school, Enlightium meets most of the state requirements for K-12 remote learning. Still, it is recommended for seniors when applying to public and private colleges and universities to use a homeschooled status for financial aid/scholarship purposes and use a distance learning status for the rest of the admissions requirements.

Step 3: Review/Confirm Student’s Schedule with Their Counselor

Courses are typically assigned by the desired start date.

    • Parents with students in grades 9-12 will receive a course planner or graduation plan via email from their counselor before courses are assigned. Parents will need to review and confirm this graduation plan via email in order for courses to be assigned.*
    • Parents with students in grades 3-8 will receive a notification via email when courses are assigned.*
    • Parents of students in grades PreK-2 will receive a welcome email to confirm the curriculum content that is to be purchased by the parent, along with instructions.

*You will receive an email notification with your student’s Ignitia login information and other details:

    • Once classes are assigned, and
    • You have reached your desired start date
