Summer School Options

EA students will have the option to enroll in summer school to complete schoolwork at the Silver package support level. There are two options for summer school students:

Option 1: Extension of the Current School Year

  • This option applies to students who are currently enrolled and who need an extension to complete their school work
  • More information will be emailed to parents with students in need of an extension
  • For these students, the extension will be from June 5th to July 19, 2019

Applying for an Extension

  • A counselor will reach out to you via email with confirmation of the extension or if there are any other recommendations
  • If you are not certain about whether or not summer school will be necessary, feel free to discuss your specific situation with the Progress Department
    • You may email progress@enlightiumacademy.com or call 866-488-4818 option 3
    • Families who are not sure if their student will need an extension are encouraged to inquire right away by speaking with the Progress Department. A team member will often recommend waiting to apply for an extension until mid-May when all parties have a clearer picture as to whether or not an extension is needed
  • Registration deadlines
    • Application for Summer School extension deadline: May 30, 2019 - $300
      Application for Summer School extension deadline with late fee: June 30, 2019 - $350
    • An extension for the current school year will not be available starting July 1, 2019
  • There is no discount available for Option 1

Teacher Support and Curriculum

  • Due to limited teacher availability during the summer, students will have Silver Package support:
    • Teachers will assist students through chat within 24 hours during business days
  • EA faculty will be reviewing and updating the curriculum during the summer. This means that students will be using the curriculum from the previous school year during part of the summer and then will be switched to the updated curriculum

Option 2: Early Start for the Next School Year 

  • This option applies to students who are/will be enrolled in the next school year and who would like to begin courses during the summer
    • The first official day of the 2019–20 school year is Thursday, August 15, 2019; however, due to the flexible scheduling provided by EA, students may start early

Teacher Support and Curriculum

  • Due to limited teacher availability during the summer, students will have Silver Package support:
    • Teachers will assist students through chat within 24 hours during business days
  • EA faculty will be reviewing and updating the curriculum during the summer. This means that students will be using the curriculum from the previous school year during part of the summer and then will be switched to the updated curriculum

Pricing

  • There is an increase to the discounted tuition for each month that the student starts early
    • Diamond students are exempt from early start fees

Option 2a: Early Start for the Next School Year (Grades 3–8)

  • This early start is for middle and elementary school students to provide them with additional time to complete the first semester courses
  • Students typically start core courses and one or more electives during Option 2a Early Start

Option 2b: Early Start for the Next School Year (Grades 9–12)

  • This early start is for high school students to provide them with time to complete 0.5–1 elective credit(s) before the start of the school year

We take the classroom to wherever you may be, regardless of timezone, provided a reliable internet connection is available. Lessons can also be printed to be completed offline.

Students can enroll at any time during the year and counselors will work to align the coursework to match up to previously completed work from the other school.
