Upon a submission of the Withdrawal Form, Enlightium Academy (EA) will begin the withdrawal process. EA staff will contact you if further actions will be required. This process may take several business days.
As you are pursuing a withdrawal of your student, please note that often a family withdraws when there are several options available that may allow them to stay enrolled. We are encouraging you to review the following available solutions:
1. The family's financial status has changed.
We understand that family finances might change during the school year. If your family has experienced this situation and would like to stay enrolled with Enlightium Academy, please know that you have some options:
- The Accounting Department can restructure payment plans for special circumstances. Contact the Accounting Department at 866-488-4818 option 6 to see what options you have.
- Students can be transferred to a different support package (example, changing from the Gold to the Silver Package), which has less teacher support but is at a lower price point. Contact a customer support representative at 866-488-4818 option 8 to make this change.
- A family member or a local church can help with the tuition. On occasion, a family will withdraw for financial reasons, then a few weeks later a family member offers to assist with the tuition and the family re-enrolls. Contact the Accounting Department at 866-488-4818 option 6 if you have assistance in paying the tuition.
- Families can enroll with Enlightium part-time, taking some courses at a public school and still taking some courses with Enlightium Academy. Contact your counselor to make this change.
2. The student missed the social aspect of school (wants to have more interaction with peers).
Often a family withdraws a student from a public school for safety or moral reasons, but the student misses a social aspect. Do you know that at Enlightium Academy students can be actively involved in several social events?
- Students can sign up for Enlightium Social. Students can connect with one another through a social platform created specifically for Enlightium Academy students. They can initiate and join groups that correlate with their interests and socialize with other students at Enlightium Academy. This platform is designed to be a safe place for students to connect with each other and is monitored daily by Enlightium Academy staff. Learn more about Enlightium Social by clicking here.
- Meet other students at EA’s Bible Studies. The Bible Studies are virtual meetings that offer students the ability to discuss the Bible in real time. The Bible Studies are led by EA’s Chaplain or a member of the EA team. More information on the Bible study can be found here.
- Families can join the Enlightium Academy Family Alliance group on Facebook. It is a group that has been set up so that parents can share successes, struggles, and support for one another. Parents can coordinate with other EA families in their area to meet up and work together. Also, Enlightium Academy staff occasionally provides additional support and information as needed. - Families can enroll with Enlightium part-time, taking some courses at a public school and still taking some courses at Enlightium Academy. Talk to your counselor for more information.
3. The student has a hard time staying engaged in school work.
If the student has a hard time focusing on the work or is not interested in it, you can take the same steps you would if you were in a public school.
- Make adjustments to your student’s daily planner. Waking up earlier, eating healthier, exercising during the day, or taking more or fewer breaks may help the student’s attention levels. Access a customizable daily planner by clicking here.
- Ask your student’s teacher for alternatives. At the student’s or parent’s request and per the teacher’s discretion, the teacher may allow alternative approaches to projects. For example, if the student is working on a state history essay, he or she may request creating a poster board instead and taking photographs to submit.
- Contact your student’s counselor. He or she may have ideas in how to help your student, whether it’s as minor as making an adjustment to a course or as major as making a change in the student’s course schedule. Each counselor's contact information can be found here.
- Try a gamification application or website. Gamification is the creative approach to taking daily, boring tasks and receiving digital rewards for completing them.
4. The curriculum is too difficult and/or requires a lot of work, or the student is waiting too long for teachers' assistance.
- Make adjustments to your student’s daily planner. A better daily routine may help schoolwork feel less overwhelming. Access a customizable daily planner by clicking here.
- Contact your student’s counselor. Counselors may be able to make adjustments to the course schedule. Each counselor's contact information can be found here.
- Review the communication between your student and his/her teacher first and then contact the school administration if your student has unanswered help requests. Technical errors or miscommunication could be the culprit. Log in to your student’s Ignitia account to review his or her messages that were sent to a teacher. Do not hesitate to contact the EA assistant administrator at firstname.lastname@example.org if you find unanswered correspondence. Screenshots of unanswered messages or emails with the timestamps are extremely helpful to send along with your grievance.
5. A family member has a serious or terminal illness and cannot assist the student in the learning process.
- Contact your student’s counselor or EA administration. The counselor may have suggestions on how your family can stay enrolled if unable to assist the student to the previous degree. We would love to provide emotional support during this difficult time for your family and add you to our internal prayer list. Our withdrawal process is simple. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with our program, just notify us within 14 days of starting your coursework, and we will issue a full refund on the tuition. Anything after 14 days has a 30% withdrawal fee on the prorated tuition. We are continuously improving our school and are happy to say that the withdrawal rate is less than 1% from dissatisfied customers. - Ensure that your family’s decision to withdraw is final. There is a $25-$150 reinstatement fee, depending on how much time has passed between the student’s withdrawal from EA and the request to be reinstated.
