June: Culmination, Celebration, and Preparation for the Future
January 16, 2026
January 16, 2026
During June, your team will conclude the regular school year, celebrate with students and their families, and launch Summer School.
June begins with a Special Chapel dedicated to Father Appreciation. This service honors and celebrates the role of fathers within the school community. Through heartfelt expressions, music, and reflections, the school acknowledges the important support that fathers provide to their children.
The month includes a School Assembly dedicated to recognizing academic achievements during the second semester. This assembly serves as a platform to celebrate students' hard work and accomplishments in various subjects. Academic awards are presented, acknowledging excellence and perseverance.
June marks the conclusion of both the fourth quarter and the second semester. As students complete their final assignments and assessments, the academic year officially comes to an end. This period signifies the culmination of the students' efforts and the achievement of academic milestones.
June is synonymous with Graduation Ceremonies, a momentous occasion where students at various levels, including kindergarten, elementary school, middle school, and high school seniors, celebrate their academic achievements and milestones. These ceremonies are marked by speeches, the conferring of diplomas, and the recognition of outstanding accomplishments.
To celebrate the successful completion of the school year, a joyful Year-End Family Fun Day should take place on the last day of school in the afternoon. This event brings together students, families, and staff for a day of festivities, games, and shared experiences. This is a good time to distribute yearbooks, too.
At the end of the academic year, teachers follow a comprehensive set of procedures to ensure a smooth transition into summer. This includes completing all grades and attendance records, finalizing textbook orders, compiling a list of students for summer school, summarizing students' progress, and organizing samples of their work. All personal items and teaching tools are labeled and stored for the summer, and classrooms undergo a thorough cleaning, covering windows, walls, desks, counters, cabinets, floors, and chalkboards. Additionally, textbooks are checked and returned to the school library by the last day of school.
Following the conclusion of the academic year, faculty members participate in a Year-End Faculty In-service. This professional development session reflects on the past year, discusses successes and areas for improvement, and prepares educators for the challenges and opportunities of the upcoming school year.
As teachers’ contracts end on June 15th and then take two months off for summer break, preliminary conversations between the administration and faculty should lay the groundwork for staffing arrangements, ensuring continuity and stability in the teaching staff for the next academic year.
Summer school serves a variety of students, each with their own academic needs, whether they need to use the summer to retake courses where they struggled or to work ahead so that they can take more challenging courses during the school year. Plan to hold Summer School twice a week from 9 am -12 pm after the regular school year ends to support these students.
In summary, June is a month of culminating celebrations and forward-looking preparations: from appreciating fathers and recognizing academic achievements to hosting joyful family events and formal graduation ceremonies. As the school year concludes, the focus shifts to reflection, planning, and ensuring the continuity of quality education in the upcoming academic year.

Enlightium academy has helped me so much in the homeschooling of my son. They have worked with our scheduling and been there with answers to any questions we've had. They have made this a wonderful experience.
I love the curriculum given to my kids and the teachers are very helpful. My kids are making way better grades with this program then they did in public school.
Enlightium Academy ended up being everything I was looking for. It offers a good, flexible curriculum that truly accommodates my schedule without sacrificing learning. Most importantly, they teach the Bible in such an amazing way. It’s just perfect—I don’t regret being part of this school for a moment.
