Spiritual Formation

Enlightium Academy offers optional Bible studies to students in grades PreK-12. These studies give students the opportunity to grow spiritually through social connections centered around God’s Word. Each month, we discuss passages of Scripture and their powerful relevance to each student’s life. Bible Studies are typically led and coordinated by a member of our faculty.

The Faith in Action Program is uniquely purposed to aid students in their Christian journey. It is designed to provide students with the materials and tools for developing their mind, heart, and hands for lifelong service to Christ and His Kingdom.

As a program, Faith in Action focuses on evangelism, discipleship, and doctrine in order to equip students for lifelong ministry, positioning them as disciples of Christ who make disciples for Christ. Faith in Action cultivates students’ love for Christ and equips them to do His work in today’s world. With the whole child approach to education, the content forms around three critical domains of the image of God: academic (mind), affection (heart), and action (living or practice).

The Bible is the primary source of content for this program, especially regarding what it says about the believer’s mission for Christ and His Kingdom. While the Bible is the primary source of learning, the program offers supplemental materials to help highlight what students learn from Scripture.

Mission trips are an extension of our commitment to helping students live out their faith through intentional service. Each year, we plan to offer opportunities for students and families to participate in mission-focused experiences designed to encourage spiritual growth, a heart for service, and compassionate outreach. While the scope and locations of these trips may vary, each opportunity will emphasize serving others, sharing the love of Christ, and developing a deeper understanding of God’s Word. 

At Enlightium, we teach from a biblical worldview and provide an academic program that satisfies private school approval and accreditation requirements. We believe that the goal of all education is to mature in the love of God and neighbor through faith in Christ (Matthew 22:37-40). We also believe that all academic subjects, when taught properly, lead to this goal, because God has created the universe to point to Himself (Psalm 19:1-6; Romans 1:18-20).

Our students receive a strong background in reading, language, mathematics, science, and history through devoted Christian teachers who serve as role models for students. Our teachers and curriculum support students in developing and achieving a Christian mindset within our Expected Student Outcomes.

Enlightium staff and faculty meet weekly to pray for God’s wisdom and blessing upon our school community, praying for staff, faculty, our students, and their families.

We understand that God’s word and its impact on our lives stand at the center of a great education. Spiritual Formation Week is a time set apart to recognize, reflect on, and celebrate an awareness of God and His grace in our lives.

Spiritual Formation Week videos are sent each year via Ignitia, Canvas, the Enlightium Parents app, and on Enlightium’s YouTube channel.

At Enlightium Academy, we are grateful for the essential and powerful gift of prayer and take every opportunity to pray regularly for our students and team. We encourage our students and families to join in prayer with thousands across our nation and nations around the world. You can make this happen by meeting at your local church, requesting to join with students at your nearby school, or simply joining from home.

Enlightium holds chapel services for staff and faculty each month. These chapels are recorded and made available to your family to optionally watch in the Spiritual group on the Enlightium Parents app.

Optional student chapels are held once a month from September through May. All students are encouraged to attend and join in a fun Kahoot, worship, and a live or pre-recorded message from a member of the Enlightium team. Watch here.
