Hybrid Basic

The Hybrid Basic program offers Spokane-area students a weekly Wednesday Academic Day, where they receive teacher-led instruction, hands-on projects, and ongoing formative assessments to build mastery in core subjects. Students also complete two one-semester electives independently outside of class and may participate in Enlightium Preparatory Academy’s seasonal middle-school sports when available.

Instruction emphasizes project-based learning, essential power standards, and regular evaluations that support student progress while allowing opportunities for reteaching when needed. Parents play an active role by submitting weekly work samples and supporting mastery at home, while Enlightium Prep provides academic oversight, record-keeping, and report cards. Hybrid Basic blends structured weekly in-person learning with flexible at-home coursework at an affordable entry point.

Hybrid Basic includes a weekly Academic Day, two one-semester electives, and an opportunity to participate in Enlightium Preparatory Academy’s seasonal sports (students in grades 6-8, per sports availability).

Enrollment Details

• Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Rolling registration is available with each group (grades 1–3, 4–6, and 7–12) having, on average, 12 students per group.

In-Person Guidelines

• Be on time - Just as in any classroom, being on time shows respect and responsibility.
• Be prepared - Students must bring all their supplies.
• Provide nutrition - Students should bring their own snacks and a bottle of water. Hot lunch is available at an extra cost - please view the Hybrid Learning Program Handbook and search for the "Hot Lunch" section.
• Maintain good communication - For teachers to effectively meet students’ needs, it is essential that students maintain good communication with their teachers and let them know if they have any questions about the schoolwork.
• Meet requirements - Students participating in seasonal sports or other (online) opportunities must meet academic and behavioral expectations and maintain active communication with the applicable coordinator.

Student’s Guide

• Attend Hybrid Program Open House (usually scheduled in August). See this year’s calendar.
• Review their coordinator’s introduction letter and understand what is expected of students.

Schedule Details

• Students meet at the Enlightium Preparatory Academy campus at 4224 E. Fourth Ave., Spokane, Washington 99202. Hybrid students follow the Hybrid Program calendar.
• Students should arrive by 8:55 am. 
• Wednesday Academic Days and Friday Enrichment Days end at 1:00 pm.
• Attendance is tracked on both days, so the group teacher must be informed via email of any absences no later than the day before. In the case of an emergency, this can be done before 9:00 AM via the Enlightium Prep app messaging.
