Ignitia's electives were developed to provide a diverse slate of rigorous online courses that today's families expect from an academic environment. From practical courses including business computer information systems and physical fitness to college preparatory courses such as Personal Financial Literacy and world languages, students can fill out their schedules with courses that appeal to them and meet the needs they require for their future.

The intuitive, easy-to-use interface supports digital literacy with interactive lessons available online anytime. With unsurpassed administrative controls, teachers customize courses to accommodate differentiated learning, plan in advance with progressive scheduling and calendar options, and easily create data-rich reports with advanced filtering functions. With Enlightium Academy, students benefit from the latest digital technology available in the Christian market that holds true to traditional values founded on faith.

Creative Kids Acting**

1 semester-1 year // Grades K4-12

Designed for the students to have exciting adventures in creativity, build confidence, stretch the imagination, and develop reading and memorization skills.

Keyboarding I**

1 quarter // Grades 2-5 (available to K-1 and 6-7 with counselor approval)

Keyboarding I is an elective to help students learn how to type. It is for beginners and assumes that the student has no prior knowledge of experience in typing.

Online Music Lessons**

1 semester-1 year // Grades K-12

Care2Rock offers virtual music lessons for 100+ instruments during which your student will meet one-on-one with experienced music teachers.

This introduction to health basics focuses on topics such as personal health, wellness, and safety.

HIGH SCHOOL COURSES

Students in grade 8 can take the following high school courses per counselor approval:

Algebra I

1 credit – also available as an Honor course
Typically taken in Grade 9

Students explore concepts that include graphing linear, quadratic, and polynomial functions.

High School Natural Sciences

1 credit // Grades 9-12

Students learn about nuclear energy, Earth’s surface, constellations, oceanography, astronomy, and the future of science.

High School French I

1 credit // Grades 9-12

Expand global awareness and digital literacy with the exploration of French language and culture.

Keyboarding and Applications

0.5 credit // Grades 9-12

Practice proper keyboarding techniques; increasing speed and accuracy over time.

Physical Science Lab

1 credit
Typically taken in Grade 9

Students study atoms and molecules, energy, nutrition and health, electricity and magnetism, and force from a Christian worldview.

World Geography

0.5 credit // Typically taken in Grade 9

Students will travel to every continent to learn about the land and its people.

Personalized Pathway

Personal Financial Literacy

0.5 credit // Grades 7-12

Students learn to build a solid foundation for future finances, including life skills such as budgeting and investing.

State History

1 semester // 0.5 credit
Grades 7-12

Make history come alive through this exploration of the cultural tides and events that have shaped your state.

Western Philosophy and a Biblical Worldview

1 semester
Grades 7-8

Students learn about the origin of Western Philosophy, how Christians can benefit from learning, analyzing, and “doing” philosophy, and more.
