Conduct the Second Quarter Progress Review
As the second quarter progresses, a comprehensive check-in on students' academic progress should take place. This evaluation allows teachers to identify areas of success and areas that may require additional attention or support. The insights gained during this checkpoint contribute to personalized teaching strategies and interventions to ensure each student's continued success.
December’s Chapel Should Highlight Christmas
The spirit of Christmas is embraced through a Special Chapel service dedicated to celebrating the joy and meaning of the birth of Christ. Teachers, students, and staff participate in Christmas-themed activities, music, and reflections, creating a warm and festive atmosphere that resonates with the spirit of the season.
Allow Parents to Take the Lead on the Christmas Faculty Breakfast
To foster an appreciation of teachers, parents host a Christmas Faculty Breakfast. This festive event provides a relaxed setting for teachers and staff to connect and share experiences. It also serves as a gesture of gratitude for the dedication and hard work of the faculty and staff, reinforcing a positive and supportive school culture.
Conduct a Student, Parent, and Teacher Survey
Around mid-December, a survey should be administered to collect valuable insights from stakeholders regarding their satisfaction with the first few months of the school year. This survey allows students, parents, and teachers to share their experiences, concerns, and suggestions. The survey results guide the school in making informed adjustments and enhancements to best meet the needs of the school community.
Plan for a Relaxing Winter Break
December concludes with a well-deserved break for the entire school community. The Winter Break allows students, teachers, and staff to recharge and spend quality time with family and friends.

Discover the inspiring journey of Dr. Yelena V. Solodyankin, the visionary founder of Enlightium Academy.
Dr. Yelena V. Solodyankin has more than 30 years of experience in the field of education. She founded an online Christian school in 2003, which is now Enlightium Academy. Since then, she has guided the development of seven brick-and-mortar private schools along the Northwest Coast within church communities.
She holds her PhD in Philosophy in Leadership Studies from Gonzaga University, Master’s degree in K-12 Guidance & Counseling from Whitworth University, and Bachelor’s degree in Human Services from Gonzaga University. She also attended Pedagogical University of Kyrgyzstan and received a Diploma in Christian Studies from International Slavic Christian College. Yelena is ACSI and Washington state-certified.
Throughout her career, she has been devoted to preparing the next generation of leaders by making a difference in their hearts and minds. She has spoken at numerous educational conferences about the need for personalized Christian education and how she applied it to raising her three biological and five adopted children.
