Weekly Live Instruction in Core Subjects

Students have access to two live class sessions each week for each core subject: English, math, history, and science. Class sessions last 45 minutes and are designed to help students engage deeply in learning new material.

Instructional Sessions focus on foundational academic content. Teachers lead lessons based on the week’s most important concepts, walk through lesson questions and examples with students, guide discussions, and provide interactive instruction.

Live classes are built around the week's learning objectives and are designed to support and enhance coursework, not replace it. When a student attends, engages, and demonstrates mastery of a lesson's objectives, the teacher may, at their discretion, award credit for a corresponding assignment in Ignitia. 

For students who miss a class, recorded sessions can be made available to Enlightium Prep students, allowing them to stay connected.

Workshops: Where Students Practice, Apply, and Collaborate

Alongside Instructional Sessions, Enlightium Prep Online includes weekly Workshops — collaborative, hands-on, and built around practice rather than lecture. 

Workshops may include:

• Group projects unique to live classes
• Science labs are completed together in real time
• Test and quiz review using tools such as Kahoot or Gimkit
• IXL Live for hands-on practice
• Structured academic support sessions

These sessions give students opportunities to practice what they are learning, ask questions, work alongside peers, and receive additional support from their teachers.

Every Friday, Enlightium Prep Online students participate in one of two project-based tracks: Builder Hub or Inquiry Hub, rotating quarterly.

Builder Hub students spend the quarter making something real — a designed product, a coded tool, a creative work — and answering for it to a real audience. Inquiry Hub students take a contested question, research it, build a defensible position, and defend it under genuine challenge. Both tracks follow a nine-week arc that moves from orientation through failure, revision, and public presentation.
