Social Activities

Enlightium Academy is proud to offer students the unique opportunity to participate in a variety of educational and competitive events.

Students in grades 1-12 have the option to participate in an Enlightium Academy social event; the events available are broken down by grade level below. 

Some student activities, such as the Spelling Bee and Math Olympics, have multiple rounds. In these cases, participation in early rounds would be required and have no costs, while participation in later rounds would be optional and the family may incur costs such as travel and lodging.

Bible Studies

Overview

Enlightium Academy provides Bible studies every other week to its students in grades 3-12. These studies will provide students the opportunity to grow in their spiritual and social development.

Students will receive a link to join each Bible Study via Ignitia from the Bible Study Coordinator. 

2020-2021 Dates

Enlightium holds these studies at 8:30 am Pacific Time / 11:30 am Eastern Time throughout the year, even during the summer; the studies are approximately 30 minutes long.

  • Grades 9–12: Two Mondays each month
  • Grades 6–8: Two Wednesday each month
  • Grades 3–5: Two Fridays each month

Late registration is available for Bible Studies. Registration closes on Sunday, January 10, 2021, at 11:59 pm PT.

Book Clubs

Overview

Enlightium offers book clubs for Enlightium students. Students read the books on their own and discuss it with an Enlightium teacher and other students.

After registration, the Book Club Leaders will reach out to families via email. 

2020-2021 Dates

Each book club lasts for 1 semester and students meet once a month.

  • Semester 1 book clubs: September - December 2020 
  • Semester 2 book clubs: January - April/May 2021 

Late registration is available for Book Clubs. Registration closes on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at 11:59 pm PT.

Math Olympics

Overview

Enlightium Academy is partnering with the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) to provide students in grades 3–8 who have been recognized as top performers in mathematical computation and reasoning the opportunity to compete with their peers from around the nation. 

After registration, Enlightium's Math Olympics Supervisor will reach out to families via email.

2020-2021 Dates

  • September 14-18, 2020: Student Social Week (students register for Math Olympics)
  • October 21, 2020: Live Practice Session for Try-Out Test
  • October 23-25, 2020: Round 1 Try-Out Test
  • January 18-27, 2021: Live Practice for Round 2 Test
  • January 28-29, 2021: Round 2
  • Late February/Early March, 2021: Round 3

 Late registration is not available for Math Olympics.

Pen Pal Program

Overview

A student gets paired up with another Enlightium student of the same gender and grade cluster. Write letters, learn about each other's culture, and make a friend that will last a lifetime!

After registration, Enlightium's Pen Pal Program Supervisor will reach out to families via email.

2020-2021 Dates

  • September 14-18, 2020: Student Social Week (students register for Math Olympics)
  • September 21-25, 2020: The Pen Pal Program Coordinator will reach out to families via email.

 Late registration is not available for the Pen Pal Program.

Social Ambassadors

Overview

Social Ambassadors may have access to new and/or premium Enlightium features. Students post about their experiences at Enlightium using social media.

After registration, Enlightium's Social Ambassador Coordinator will reach out to students via email.

2020-2021 Dates

  • Students meet quarterly with Enlightium administration to provide feedback on these features.

 Late registration is not available for Social Ambassadors.

Spelling Bee

Overview

Enlightium Academy provides students with the opportunity to compete in a spelling bee with other Enlightium students.

After registration, Enlightium's Spelling Bee Coordinator will reach out to families via email. 

2020-2021 Dates

  • November 17-19, 2020: Round 1 (remote session)
  • February 23-25, 2021: Round 2 (remote session)
  • May 4-6, 2021: Round 3 (remote session)

Late registration is available for Spelling Bee. Registration closes on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at 11:59 pm PT.

Student Council

Overview

Enlightium Academy's Student Council provides students with the opportunity to build and strengthen communication and leadership skills in a safe and supportive environment.

Running for Student Council fulfills the social activity, even if the student is not elected in the Council.

October 2, 2020: The Student Council Coordinator will email registrants with their next steps
October 18, 2020, at 11:59 pm PT: Deadline for submission of campaign video and poster
October 21-23, 2020: Enlightium student body general election
October 27, 2020: Enlightium administration announces results of the election

Late registration is not available for Student Council.

Young Illustrators

Overview

Young Illustrators is an event that provides an opportunity for students in grades 1-5 to participate in the writing, illustrating, production, and presentation of original books.

After registration, Enlightium's Young Illustrators Coordinator will reach out to families via email. 

2020-2021 Dates

  • November 15, 2020: Due date for Round 1 book submissions
  • February 15, 2021: Due date for Round 2 book submissions

Late registration is available for Young Illustrators. Registration closes on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at 11:59 pm PT.

Enlightium Academy is a private Christian school serving homeschool, online, and co-op students on their journey to embrace their God-given talents and develop a lifelong thirst for knowledge with a Christ-like spirit.
