Dr. Yelena V. Solodyankin

Founder & Executive Director

Dr. Yelena V. Solodyankin has more than 30 years of experience in the field of education. She founded an online Christian school in 2003, which is now Enlightium Academy. Since then, she has guided the development of seven brick and mortar private schools along the west coast within church communities.

She holds her PhD in Philosophy in Leadership Studies from Gonzaga University and her Master’s degree in K-12 Guidance & Counseling from Whitworth University. Yelena is ACSI and Washington state-certified.

Throughout her career, she has been devoted to preparing the next generation of godly leaders by making a difference in their hearts and minds. She has spoken at numerous educational conferences about the need for personalized Christian education and how she applied it to raising her three biological and five adopted children.

Aleksandr A. Solodyankin Jr., CMA

CFO & Director of Developments

Alex Jr. graduated from Whitworth University with a B.A. double major in accounting and marketing as a Cum Laude recipient. He is also a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and is currently working on obtaining his CPA certification. He is ACSI certified.

Alex Jr. worked in the education field since 2006 as a high school math teacher and assisted the head of school with administrative duties at a local private Christian school. He joined Enlightium Academy in 2013 and served in varying administrative positions.

Alex Jr. is a lifelong learner, passionate about helping others reach greater heights in all realms of life. A foundational principle of his is that each individual is made in the image of God, has intrinsic value, and God-given abilities, that to steward God’s creation well, must be further developed and used for God’s glory.

The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

Thomas Lambert

Thomas Lambert, M.Ed.

Head of School

Thomas graduated from Eastern Washington University with a master’s degree in Educational Leadership. He taught Spanish and math for five years in public and private schools before coming to work for Enlightium Academy in 2015. He is ACSI and Mississippi state-certified.

He is passionate about using innovative approaches to provide students with unique learning models to meet their individual needs. He loves working to integrate technology with proven instructional strategies.

He has been married since 2010 and has two children, Titus and Linen Grey. He loves outdoor activities like camping, playing disc golf, and making wooden toys in his workshop.

Irina Martin

Dean of Academics

Since joining Enlightium Academy in 2011, Irina has worked tirelessly on developing policies and structures for a fast-growing institution. In 2018, her focus shifted to the quality of instruction, curriculum development, and staffing.

Irina Martin began her education career as a secondary English teacher in a traditional private Christian school after graduating with a bachelor’s degree from Pensacola Christian College (PCC). In 2009, Irina obtained her Master of Educational Administration degree from PCC. She holds a lifetime ACSI Professional certificate.

She is a firm believer that all students are capable of succeeding in academics when given a clear presentation with adequate repetition and time to digest new information. Her chief goal is to assure that all of Enlightium's students are well prepared to succeed in higher education.

Will Mead

Will Mead, M.A.

K-12 Principal

Will Mead graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Biology from Eastern Washington University and holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Seattle Pacific University. Before joining Enlightium, he worked in local, brick and mortar, private Christian schools and, earlier in his career, as a scientist in a clinical laboratory.

Will joined Enlightium as a science teacher in 2017, then served in administration before entering his current role as K-12 Principal. He is certified by ACSI.

Will and his wife married in 2006 and have four children. In his free time, Will enjoys reading works of science and philosophy, playing chess, and watching musical theatre.

Heath Robertson

Heath Robertson, M.A.

Spiritual Support Director

Heath Robertson received his B.A. in Biblical Studies from Moody Bible Institute where he completed the Honors Program for Semitic Languages. He has completed his M.A. in Biblical and Theological Studies with an emphasis in exegetical studies at Western Seminary where he received the honors award for Old Testament exegesis. He is certified by ACSI.

Heath finds great fulfillment in his roles as a teacher and Spiritual Support Director at Enlightium. He enjoys running 5Ks and 10Ks in his free time.

Andrey Karpov, B.A.

Business Operations & Human Resources Director

Andrey received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a focus in Human Resources and Business Analytics from Eastern Washington University. Andrey has been with Enlightium since 2013 and is certified by ACSI.

He and his wife are enjoying the blessings and challenges of raising young children. In his free time, Andrey can be found learning new things and spending time outside with his family.

Michael Brooks

Michael Brooks, B.B.A.

Director of Communications

Michael graduated from Eastern Washington University with his bachelors in Business Administration. He has worked at Enlightium Academy since 2015 as the Director of Communications handling internal procedures, policies, and communications. A part of his responsibility is to work on Enlightium’s website development, knowledge base, and mobile application. He is certified by ACSI.

Prior to attending college, Michael enlisted in the United States military in the field of cryptology, where he served on four continents. Michael has a love of learning and continually reads about any subject that interests him. He enjoys listening to audiobooks while running, having participated in numerous 12Ks and half-marathons. Michael loves hiking and camping with his wife, daughters, and dog in the great Northwest and plays the guitar, ukulele, and the upright bass.

Mrs. Yohe, M. Ed.

Director of High School Counseling Department

As the Director of Enlightium Academy’s High School Counseling Department, Mrs. Yohe collaborates with Enlightium’s Administration Team and other Department Heads to support a Christ-centered high school counseling program that benefits students, parents, teachers, administrators, and Enlightium’s overall learning environment.

Mrs. Yohe has been with Enlightium Academy since 2017. She earned her bachelor's degree in Education from Lewis-Clark State College. While raising eight children, she earned her Master’s Degree in Guidance and Counseling and graduated cum laude from City University of Seattle. Currently, Mrs. Yohe is earning her Doctorate in Education with an emphasis in eLearning and is currently magna cum laude at Northcentral University. Mrs. Yohe is an ESA and ACSI certified guidance counselor with a Professional Teaching Certificate.

During her spare time, she and her husband enjoy camping, hiking, reading, and spending quality time with their children.

Marina Vagin

Marina Vagin, B.A.

Director of Elementary and Middle School Counseling Department

Marina has been working with Enlightium Academy since 2009. She earned her bachelor's degree in Social Services from Whitworth University and is certified by ACSI.

Marina was involved in developing the Enlightium counseling and admissions departments and contributed to the expansion of many other areas of our rapidly growing school. Marina oversees the elementary and middle school departments and collaborates with other department heads to ensure that we are working together to achieve our goals of serving others in a Godly way. She is our 8th grade counselor who is working with parents and students focusing on preparing them for high school.

Marina loves spending time with her family. In their free time they love to travel, meet with friends, and be involved at their church where she is involved in the MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) program.

Valentin Solodyankin, B.A.

Director of Enrollments

Valentin Solodyankin has been in a private Christian education since 2007. He attended a Christian school during his high school years and then studied at Whitworth University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in communication and theology and, upon graduating, he taught Bible, history, and music at a local private school. Believing that God has called him to the children’s ministry, Valentin has traveled to Ukraine, Russia, and Mexico for summer mission trips.

Valentin is a family man who enjoys adventures. He has a lovely wife and three children, whom he adores dearly. He loves to learn, travel, and participate in outdoor activities and sports. "Enjoy life," is a motto he adopted from his father, and a motto he lives by. “We live in a beautiful world that God created and have so little time to see it all!”

Olesia Kuropatkin

Olesia Kuropatkin

Head of Admissions

Olesia joined Enlightium in 2018 to assist the K-8 counseling team and is now serving as the Head of the Admissions Department. She received her Diploma of Bible Educator at International Christian College in 2003 and her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Music at Gonzaga University in 2006. She worked at a local private Christian school as a K-8th grade instructor and later an Assistant Administrator. She is ACSI Certified.

Olesia grew up in the church and from an early age developed a love for the Lord while her biological father served as a missionary and her mother supported him by taking care of a growing family. She was privileged to take part in many Christian seminars and workshops, deepening her knowledge of the Lord and Christian education while her adoptive parents pursued their dream of bringing Christian education first to the Slavic people, and later to students from all races across the USA and around the world.

Family is very important to Olesia. With her husband they are instilling a biblical foundation in their three children as they strive to serve the Lord in the home, at church, and the workplace.

Liya Vogin

Liya Vogin

System Administrator

Liya Vogin has been working in education endeavors since 2012. She joined the Enlightium Academy registration team in 2014, became the Head of Admissions in 2016, and then in 2020 became the System Administrator. She enjoys collaborating with her team to ensure the internal systems run smoothly and efficiently.

Liya and her husband enjoy living in Arizona where it’s always sunny and warm. She loves to travel and they had the opportunity to live abroad, which was a dream come true! During her free time, Liya enjoys scrapbooking and going on long walks with friends and family.

Enlightium Academy is a private Christian school serving homeschool, online, and co-op students on their journey to embrace their God-given talents and develop a lifelong thirst for knowledge with a Christ-like spirit.
